Could You Be Our Next Club Secretary

Could You Be Our Next Club Secretary

Tony Porter

Play a key role in the continued success of Southam Rugby Club.

Southam RFC is a thriving community rugby club run entirely by volunteers. We’re looking for someone organised, enthusiastic and community-minded to become our next Honorary Secretary.

The role is at the heart of the club, helping to coordinate committee meetings, manage communications, oversee RFU administration and ensure everything behind the scenes runs smoothly.

You don’t need previous rugby administration experience—just good organisational skills, the ability to communicate well and a willingness to get involved.

What you’ll do
Coordinate committee meetings and the Annual General Meeting
Manage club communications and correspondence
Act as the club’s main contact with the RFU
Oversee the club’s RFU Game Management System (GMS)
Help maintain key club records and compliance documentation
Support the committee in the day-to-day running of the club

Time Commitment
The role typically requires around 3–4 hours per week, with a little additional time around committee meetings and the AGM. Much of the work can be done at times that suit you.

Full Support Provided
A full handover will be given and you’ll be supported by an experienced and friendly committee. You won’t be expected to know everything from day one—we’ll help you settle into the role.

If you’d like to find out more, we’d love to have an informal chat with you. There is absolutely no obligation—just an opportunity to learn more about the role and how you could help Southam RFC continue to thrive.
